The story deals with one man's encounter with the supernatural. The love of one man is traced throughout his life and the life of the woman he loved. Their affection for each other lasted throughout both their lives. Although she died years before him he was still close to her until his death that occurred years later. After her death her spirit stayed in the lighthouse where they first met until he joined her. Try as he may he could not forget or get away from her. The story is sad for he never wanted to.
